Frequently Asked Questions...

· When will the decision be made to cancel a trip due to bad weather?
Unless there's a tropical storm heading our way, the decision is typically made reasonably close to departure time.

· Does an infant or toddler count as one of our passengers?
Yes, they count as a passenger according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

· What should I wear for the cruise?
Your attire is entirely your choice. The Bottomline is fully heated and air-conditioned. Soft-soled shoes are preferred, but not required. We host formal corporate cruises and casual water sport days alike!

· When do I need to show up?
We begin boarding 15 minutes prior to departure time. The Bottomline Yacht company offers pick-up and drop-off service for an additional fee.

· What kind of snacks come with the cruise?
We offer a full range of food and beverage options, ranging from a personal chef to assorted types of chips, pretzels, peanuts, or cookies.

· What about motion sickness?
Since we cruise in relatively protected waters and the Bottomline is such a sturdy yacht, it is very rare for people to get seasick (less than 1%).

· What about being caught out in a lightning storm?
During the summertime, lightning storm forecasts are a common occurrence. Most of these do not materialize, but if one does "pop up" while cruising and whenever possible, we will head for the dock as soon as we can. Our captains are excellent at reading these storms: where they are and where they are going.

· Why must I purchase a life jacket for my child under 35 pounds?
The U.S. Coast Guard has not officially approved a child's life jacket for commercial passenger boats for children under 35 lbs., therefore, we cannot provide one. Any life jacket suitable for a young child that properly fits will be permitted onboard.

· What do you typically see? Where do you go?
All cruises are dependent on weather factors. Minimally, all cruises will feature natures beauty at her best, pelicans, osprey and other ocean birds are plentiful. Dolphin are frequently spotted in warmer months, as well as the occasional sea otter, bald eagle, and loggerhead turtle. Most trips leave the docks, passing by magnificent waterfront estates and private docks.. Some trips are just right for a cruise to the open ocean. It's very easy for us to say "each trip is unique", which keeps frequent adventure seekers coming back for more!

· Can I help drive?
In typical weather conditions, the Captain will encourage guests to help steer The Bottomline.

· Do you offer cruises longer than 2-hours?
Yes. We have "special event" cruises from hourly to a full day. All have some type of food included.

All the time. This is a great way to get your sea legs and to truly enjoy the yachting lifestyle..
